The Leopold is a medium length haired breed of cat. Leopolds are exceedingly affectionate. They are a strong and powerfully built cat, reminiscent of the wild Snow Leopard. They typically weigh between 12-18 pounds for the males, or 8-14 pounds for females.

Leopold fur is textured and medium-long. There is only one accepted pattern, at this time, and that pattern consists of large black rosettes covering the entire body of the cat. The only accepted color is a light silver, although tarnishing is acceptable, as the wild Snow Leopard does exhibit quite a bit of tarnishing, itself. The Leopold is a medium/large, strong cat which takes 5 years to mature. As with most breeds, the females weigh less than the males. They are extremely agile and athletic. Their muscles are large and powerful. The body is not cobby and is considered on the long side, and is slightly lower in front than in the hind, but appears horizontal when in motion. A barrel shaped, muscular torso, develops with age. The boning in the legs is quite strong, and the paws are quite large, appearing to look like built-in snow shoes.  The paws are round, big and quite powerful. The hind legs, when straightened, are slightly longer than the forelegs. The overall appearance should be one of great strength and power. The cat has a relatively large, rounded look to its head, with small ears and slightly hooded eyes. The general impression is of power and substance.
